I have been a freelance writer for many years. My first success came early at the age of ten when an article I had written about the Spanish Riding School was published in Diana. Five years later I sold my first story to Pony Magazine Annual and since then my work has been regularly published in a variety of magazines, newspapers and books.
- I am the author of Champion Lancastrian and Tales of Old Lancashire
- I am a regular contributor to Lancashire Magazine and my articles and short stories have been published in a wide range of national magazines and newspapers including The Lady, My Weekly, People’s Friend, Take a Break Fiction Feast and many others.
- I am a qualified teacher with many years’ experience teaching both children and adults. I've lectured in creative writing at a local college and I'm an on-line and postal tutor for the Open College of the Arts, the Writers' News Home Study Division and the Writers Bureau.
- I am a member of the Society of Authors, the Society for Women Writers and Journalists, the National Association of Writers in Education, and I am the chairman of the Lancashire Authors’ Association.
